Greetings

Once upon a time I began writing.

I really don’t remember when.

Words and stories and books always fascinated me. I use to sit outside and create stories in my mind, too young to write them out, but fueled with an energy to create.

Then I began blogging at thirteen, and it all truly began. I was struggling with my doubts about my faith and God and who I was, and suddenly I realized how utterly freeing it was to pen these thoughts out loud, to release them from my head.

Suddenly writing wasn’t just a passion.

It was my lifeline.

I’ve since grown and become an adult. I’m a twenty something with a passion to continue to write out of my brokenness and seek beauty in it, but I have a new passion too: to help others climb out of the muck, to stand up victorious and to live free.

I have a passion for loving people deeply, and for authenticity and my blog is a house for that passion that has only grown with me.

Welcome to Beautifully Broken.

If you have followed me on my other blog thus far and join me yet again on this new chapter, I thank you. If you are new and have no clue who the heck I am and are still following me, I thank you.

I am Kara. I am the oldest of six. A pastor’s kid. I love the thought of adventure and sunsets and walks in nature. I love meeting new people, iced chai teas, and black and white photograpghy.

Welcome to my place where I strive for authenticity, where openess is welcome and you can come as you are.

Sometimes you feel like giving up
Sometimes you’ve bled out enough
Sometimes you’ve got to believe in something
‘Cause you’re not the only one
Standing there losing blood
You have come to the right place

  5. Kara, I see I am a little older then the ones who commented on your blog post. Actually I just want to say I am glad to see younger ones writing and wanting to be real in their lives. God is about as real as one can get and He so desire for us to follow Him. So real is in His kingdom. As a 73 year old women I desire the very same thing, to be a courageous wises hearted women who lives in a messy would with messy people, me being the most messy. But God has so transformed me and grown me and continues to do so. Be courageous as you write, be true to Him, ask for the wisdom that will help you discern truth. Your post made my heart glad.
